How to Lose Weight in 2 Weeks

It’s almost here. Whatever it is you have been ignoring for the last six months is now right around the corner, looming in all its intimidating importance and reminding you that you’ve put off losing weight for too long. Maybe it’s a wedding, or a Christmas party, or a photography session with the family. Maybe it’s your high school reunion, maybe it’s an old friend coming to town for a visit. Whatever the reason is, you want to be thinner for it, and you have not been dieting and exercising like you promised yourself you would. Now you have to find something to wear that disguises the extra fat you should have lost two months ago, or learn how to lose weight in two weeks.

It will be okay. I promise. It’s entirely possible to lose weight in 2 weeks, and if you stick to it now, you will experience the change you want in the time you have remaining. But it will take the discipline and focus of a ninja, so listen up. It’s time to reshape your body in a hurry.

The first and most vital thing you can do to drop weight in a hurry is to set a routine for your life. Wake at the same hour every morning. Eat a light, low-fat breakfast at about the same time. Have lunch and dinner at the same times every day, and plan your snacks to fall within the same half an hour interval from day to day. Stop working at the same time every afternoon or evening. Go to sleep at the same time every night. This routine will remove a significant amount of stress from your body, and your natural systems will compensate by shedding useless pounds, speeding up your metabolism, and providing you with more energy. Stress causes weight gain, so stressing out over weight loss is the ultimate in bad strategies.

Next, have healthy foods. Give up soda entirely. Coffee is acceptable, because the fats contained in black coffee rarely stick around in your system due to coffee’s diuretic nature. However, do not have lattes, macchiatos, or any sugar or cream in your coffee. Coffee-based beverages contain an amazing amount of fat and carbohydrates that will overpower any diuretic properties and stick directly to the wall of your intestines. Yuck. Have a piece of fruit instead of a candy bar. Mandarin oranges are as tasty as candy bars, and are loaded with vitamin C instead of sugar. Do not, however, skip meals! Making healthy decisions about what you put into your body will help you cut calories, speed up your metabolism, and make you feel better; but skipping meals puts your body into automatic famine mode, and when you do eat, it will absorb everything it can. Your metabolism will slow down, your glucose levels will be unpredictable, and you will feel irritable and fatigued. There is no use for that, if you want to lose weight in 2 weeks, it’s much simpler than that.

Drink water. There are lots of diet plans that cause you to lose water weight in order to lose weight in a hurry, but you are not, ultimately, changing the shape of your body. You are actually harming its ability to function properly, and therefore to lose weight. Your body needs fluids to filter out toxins and fat from your blood and your gastrointestinal system. Instead of losing water weight, drink juices and eat fruits high in vitamin C, which is a natural, water-soluble way of flushing toxins from your system. The extra water will come out as sweat when you exercise. By reducing stress on your body by reducing stress and providing it with what it needs to function properly, your body will not retain water as a defense mechanism. Water weight is not the issue. Oh, you might also want to reduce salt if you want to lose weight in your face, as it makes you retain water and makes you feel bloated.

Exercise regularly. At least, for these two months, exercise for about an hour daily. Be sure to stretch thoroughly outside of that hour you have set aside, and fill that hour with lots of cardio. Get your heart rate moving faster and your lungs clear and healthy. The stronger your cardiovascular system, the more efficient your body will become. The exercise will also release endorphins, which will help you feel good naturally, and also reduce your tendency to eat as a response to stress. Noticing a theme yet? Stress is bad.

Finally, rest for a solid eight hours, without interruption. Try not to set your alarm clock to be louder than your fire alarm. Waking up to a shock will only destroy all that stress relief you’ve focused on so far. Make sure that when you go to sleep at night, you are not angry or upset. That stress will follow you even into your dreams, and make your rest useless. Even now, you might be waking up feeling just as exhausted as when you went to sleep. After two weeks of your new routine, re-evaluate the quality of your rest and consciously appreciate the difference.

Your body is a marvel of engineering. If you control what goes into it and provide it with a low-stress environment, it will help you along as you learn how to lose weight in two weeks. If you want to lose weight quickly, then start working on eliminating stress from your life completely.
